The Simpsons, formed by Matt Groening, is an American animated sitcom for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a humorous sketch of a middle class American lifestyle characterized by its eponymous family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is places in the story bound town of Springfield, and makes fun of many aspects of the human condition including American culture, society, and television.
Newer, and more popular, Family Guy is an animated American television sitcom, created by Seth MacFarlane, is a staple of Fox Sunday nights. The Show features a strangely dysfunctional family in the town of Quahog.

I love the Simpsons and Family Guy. It brings out the humor in what familys go through. Obviously its spun to make it funnier, but its definitely something everyone should watch!

ReplyDeleteThe Simpsons were part of our family! I grew up watching them with my family during dinner and it amazes me that it is still on with this new generation growing up. Great show!
ReplyDeleteOne of the best all time cartoons. I grew up watching this as a kid and as i see some of the episodes and there are so many funny things that when i was a kid i didn't pick up on. I'm not surprised that this cartoon continues to provide entertainment for families today.
ReplyDeleteI love all cartoons, and The Simpsons and Family Guy are my two favorites. They can always make me laugh when I am having a hard day. It is cool how they can take things in the news and make fun of them,my favorite is when they make fun of FOX. Both shows have violence and shouldnt be seen by childern.
ReplyDeleteNice post, Yes this was a very popular milestone in the entertainment evolution of America based on the shows popularity. I read an article only a few days ago saying that Simpson's is one of the longest running shows in TV history. Not sure the exact details but they run similar along those lines.
ReplyDeleteIt amazing that the Simpson are on as long as they have been and still have new ideas for shows. It was groundbreaking for its time. I’m kind of over it now. I think the Family Guy is kind of boring too. I prefer South Park as it seems like more a mirror for our current situation. But either way, we would not have either Family Guy or South Park without the Simpsons.
ReplyDeleteYeah the Simpsons are an American institution and arguably the most popular show in television history. I remember when the show first came on and there was talk about how obscene it was. Looks pretty tame to the stuff you can find on prime time now!
