Sharp, a TV manufacturer designed a new LCD TV in Japan. This prototype only needs one cable and that is for the power. Overall I think this TV is really nice. It’s hard to think that it is only 2cm thick. The only problem with it I see is that the signal can be a cut off if something gets in its way, so it might be difficult with little kids. Watch the video and check it out!

This is very cool, I see this kind of technology being the future of tvs and computers. When the price goes down and more companies make this I can see myself watching the Giants beat the Eagles every football season and feeling like I am there.
ReplyDeleteI saw a LED HDTV at Best Buy on Sunday. Now that was even thinner. It also had a great viewing angle. It used 40% less power than other HDTV's.
ReplyDeleteThis LCD HDTV is still a good set. Fast response time, light weight, and good picture make this a winner. I really like the idea of it being energy efficient.
These new TV's can eventually replace rear-projection and Plasmas when the price goes down enough.
id' be so scared that i would break that. I would love to have one but i wouldn't touch it!if it's that thin, it couldn't possibly weigh that much.
ReplyDeleteWhat's almost as remarkable as the technology is the economics at work whenever new technology is marketed. The price of these TVs, like the existing flat screen technology will plummet as more and more manufacturers come into play and the economies of scale kick in.
ReplyDeleteIts crazy what technology can bring us. That TV is so skinny! Honestly tho, we already have extremely thin tv's, how much thinner do we really need them? I do like that the only cord it needs is to get power, next they are going to have completely wireless tvs that are battery powered or something
ReplyDeleteWow! Good thing I held off on buying a TV this winter. Maybe by the next year ill have that thing.
ReplyDeleteRoss, nice shot at the Eagles there. Maybe they could make this TV spill beer on you and insult you. Then you would really feel like you were at the Linc.
ReplyDeleteWasn't there a roll up tv. Anyway, this is cool - but when will it be completly wireless. No matter what kind of technology there is, the giants suck.
ReplyDeletehaha, funny stuff fella's. I appreciated the comment by Tom. This is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI did a post a thin TVs on my blog and I still think they are kind of neat. But, really is it better because it is thinner. I know that some people are building notches into their walls so that regular TVs will appear to be flat screens. If I were to do that, how would a thin TV benefit me? I agree that wireless TVs would be a real step forward.
ReplyDeleteok thinner i can see doing, less space to take up.
